My life-

Well actually when I think about it I don’t really know who I am.

Well of course the stuff that I was born into I know like that my names Yakira, I was born in Brooklyn NY the 4th of November (my parents first anniversary) 1994. I've got out of control crazy blond curls I'm the oldest of 6 kids, 5 are really my siblings and 1 is adopted. My relationship with my family is the most important thing to me. My moms a social worker and my dad's a lawyer. I loved the life in the U.S. but I donno something was missing so we made aliyah in 2000 and now I live in Efrat. If I had a list of the top 5 best decisions I made in my life moving to Israel would be on the top of the list and I don’t regret it for a second. You know that when you watch the news there are always news flashes from what's the latest new in Israel so when you hear all of the news flashes about "settlers" their talking about us.
We live a 20 min drive away from Jerusalem and from my house the Arabs are just
a street away. I find it really meaningful to live where I live because I know how it is when you live in America and all day you talk about Israel and how important it is to support it but when you can actually live the reality of what you learned all those years and really see what you give to Israel by living in certain places really gives it a different meaning. I think that Israeli citizens are fighters and I am proud to be one of them.

I'm not really a person of words so I find it really important to find ways to express myself in other ways. I play the guitar and love old music, I'm a dancer and writer, I learned martial arts, I draw, volunteer and in a month I'm gonna become a counselor in "Bnei Akiva" for 6th graders .
I love hanging out with my friends on a good barbeque once in a while and just at all. My favorite place in the whole world is my fridge and a build my every day schedule around food.
I hate shoping and used to really be a tomboy but you know how it works...people change after traumas when they think their a guy at age 6 and walk into the guys bathroom confidentlly only then to realize that their not really guys after a bad experience. I love sports and running and i watch a basketball game with my day every thursday night.
Being spontanies and doing the unexpected (for example a mid school day hichhike to a near bye water sorce with quike grape picking on the way and swimming for 3 hours in my clothes and coming to a near death experience-I exsadurated a bit ;-P) is my favorite thing in life and very often gets me in trouble or in bad situations but they all end with good laughs and memmories so its worth the trouble.
I love traveling and getting to see new places in Israel and in the world. I love hikes and water but the more I get to see the smaller I feel in this big world.

As a smart man said once- "Life is like a box of chocolate- you never know what you're gonna get"
We don't really know and can't expect anything in this life one second we can be on the top of the world and a second later we can find ourselves flat on our backs on the ground with no one there to help us.
But no mater what were going through we need a smile, a friend and faith.
Only that will give us strength to push forwards.

The story of my life is unwritten.
And it's being written and rewritten every moment.
